Cirrus uncinus (Ci unc)

Les cirrus uncinus (CH1) sont des nuages de haute altitude (plus de 6000 mètres) facilement identifiables par leur forme crochetée, de virgule. Ils sont souvent visibles sous la forme de filaments courbes dans le ciel lorsque le temps est beau et sec.

Composés de cristaux de glace, ils se forment en principe lorsque une couche d'air sec monte vers un étage supérieur. Ainsi, la faible quantité d'humidité présente dans l'air se transforme en glace par sublimation.

Si les cirrus uncinus restent identiques sans prendre de la place dans le ciel, le temps reste en général au beau, tandis que si ceux-ci prennent de l’ampleur, une perturbation approche très certainement.
